Marcus Smith’s article in Entrepreneur published first in 2016 shares thoughts on the importance of value. I couldn’t agree with him more. Giving value freely and beyond what is expected increases sales and keeps them coming back. That’s where the magic lies. Return customers with a long and high Lifetime Value.
It takes a little more attention to make messages personal but the payback is huge.
He shares four tips to bring increased benefits to your business and your customers.
Become an authority. When your customers find an authority they like and trust they make them their go-to person for information and purchases. Feeling you are their authority gives them a sense of security to buy from you...again and again.
Help them feel you understand them. Build emotional connections with your customer. When we feel this kind of connection, we share more. It’s up to the business to understand it. When you can show you do understand, and they feel it, your value goes up as their resource.
Listen to their feedback. How many times have given feedback to a business but felt it was totally ignored. Listening and responding in a helpful way is one of your greatest assets. Their questions and concerns are your opportunities to share more value. Businesses, like people, need to listen more than they talk.
Surprise them. Look for every opportunity to connect and reward them in a personalized way. Go beyond the common or ordinary. Since most businesses don’t do this...you will look amazing.
Giving value is your best friend. Learn what you can do for your customers to bring give them more. Offer it and they will be loyal for a long time.
